THE GIANT FISH
The designer Tabitha Pope of Recycled Venues created this structure for Greenpeace at Glastonbury Festival, South England in 2011. It is build out of old CD`s which were kindly donated by Viridor Recycling, who otherwise collect CDs for reprocessing into plasma TVs in China. The first CDs were available in 1982 and since then so many have been thrown away, that it was easy to find so much to build the Giant Fish. A structure of hazel poles supported the CDs which were held in place with woven willow and people can walk through and take shelter from the mud and sun under the speckled shade.
